About Me
My name is Sophie Hope, and I’m a qualified counsellor with a first class degree in Psychology and advanced training in counselling and psychotherapy up to level 5, and online and telephone counselling. I’m a registered member of the BACP, fully insured, enhanced DBS checked, and committed to working ethically and safely.
I work with adults from all backgrounds, supporting them through a wide range of common mental health and life challenges such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship issues, and workplace stress.
My approach is primarily person-centred, meaning I offer a safe, non-judgmental space where your needs come first. I also draw on a range of therapeutic techniques to suit your unique experiences and goals, because I believe therapy should be as individual as you are.
My journey into counselling began with a deep desire to understand and support those close to me who were struggling emotionally and mentally. I realised that while medication and diagnosis can be helpful, true healing often comes from feeling heard, learning to trust yourself, and working through the root causes of distress. This is where effective change can occur and people begin to understand and accept themselves and consequently cope better and take back control of their lives.
I aim to create a warm and accepting environment where you feel empowered to explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed or simply want to understand yourself better, I’m here to walk alongside you.
