FAQ’s
What issues can counselling help with?
Counselling can help with anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, relationship issues, self esteem, grief, and many other personal challenges. If you’re feeling overwhelmed or stuck, talking to a professional can make a real difference.
What can I expect from the counselling sessions?
In a session, you’ll have the opportunity to talk about what’s on your mind and the reasons for you coming to counselling (if you’re unsure, we can figure this out together). The counsellor (me), listens without judgement and helps you explore your emotions, identify patterns, and develop copying strategies. Every session is tailored to your needs and is taken at your pace. Feel free to ask more questions about this in our free initial chat.
What shall I do if I need crisis support right now (UK)?
If you feel like you need immediate support right now please contact:
999 (emergency) or 111 (non-emergency) if you are worried about yours/someone else’s safety or head to your closest available A&E
your local crisis team or look at MIND website: Mental health crisis teams - Mind
Samaritans 24/7 helpline: 116 123
Text 'shout' to 85258 for anonymous text support.
How do I know if counselling is right for me?
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck or simply need someone to talk to, counselling can be a helpful step. A free initial chat can help you decide if it feels like a good fit, and I’d be happy to answer any questions you may have.
How many sessions will I need?
This varies depending on your goals and the issues you are facing and want to bring to the sessions. Some people benefit from short-term support (6-12 sessions), while others may choose to continue longer or have ongoing sessions (we don’t need to put a number on this, you can see how you go and what feels right for you). We’ll review your progress regularly to ensure the support is right for you.
Is everything I say in counselling confidential?
Yes, confidentiality is a cornerstone of counselling. Everything you share stays private, with a few legal exceptions which we’ll go over in your first session to ensure transparency and trust.
What are your fees and payment options?
Fees are £50 per 50 minute session and can be paid via bank transfer before the session to confirm the appointment. Reduced fees can be offered for people in financial difficulty or for students, please feel free to discuss this with me for further details and i’ll be happy to let you know what I can offer to help.
